Abstract

The National Indigenous Justice Summit was held online on 7 – 8 July, 2020. Indigenous thinkers, community leaders and grassroots activists convened to call for justice reform in Canada. In this panel, the Hon Steven Point (Grand Chief Sto:lo Tribal Council, Chancellor of UBC, former Lieutenant-Governor of BC) provides a keynote address on systemic racism within the Canadian criminal legal system. This panel also includes Professor Aimée Craft (Poverty, Criminalization and Justice Reform), Doug White (Justice Reform in BC), and Joseph Murdoch-Flowers (Policing and Justice in Nunavut). This panel was chaired by Kekinusuqs Dr Judith Sayers and Tuma Young.
